Spring:

Maple Syrup, Nursery & Field Prep.

In early spring, as soon as the weather permits, you'll find us in our sap woods tapping maple trees for syrup. We love being outdoors again! Grandpa Dave cooks the sap while the rest of us tap and collect. We're getting in shape for working in the nursery.

As soon as the frost is out of the ground you'll find us in our nursery - weeding, tilling, planting, digging, bundling and sorting trees. Some of those trees will then get planted in the fields we prepped the year before. We also hand plant trees with spudders and start mowing our larger tree fields.

Spring is also the time for prepping fields where all the trees have been harvested. This includes mowing, discing, picking roots and rocks, leveling and planting with seed.
